Emergency Preparedness and Safety

Be Emergency Ready – Stay Connected

Emergency Preparedness (EP) week, is a Canada wide initiative to increase awareness of individual and family preparedness. During EP week, another province wide test of the Alert Ready System will occur. Frequently asked questions about these emergency alerts and the Alert Ready System, as well as information on capability of mobile devices to receive these alerts can be found here

It is strongly suggested that Ontarians also subscribe to receive Provincial Emergency alerts by email, SMS, text or Twitter.

For more information on how you and your family can be prepared visit: https://www.ontario.ca/page/emergency-preparedness.

Help spread awareness. Expand emergency preparedness efforts beyond your own families and organizations by reaching out to neighbours and friends who may be vulnerable or incapable of supporting themselves during an emergency. Don’t forget about your pets as well.
