Markdale Arena Update
Restoration work at the Markdale Arena continues to progress well following last year's fire.
The restoration has involved extensive and complex repairs, particularly to the arena's unique timber roof structure. The specialized engineering requirements, coordination with insurance, and extensive restoration work have all been important parts of the process.
Work includes structural and roofing repairs, electrical and fire safety systems, interior restoration, replacement of a section of arena boards, and preparations for refrigeration plant startup.
We are pleased to share that the project remains on schedule, with December 1, 2026, still our anticipated date for skaters to return to the ice!
We sincerely appreciate the community's patience and understanding throughout this process and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Markdale Arena.
