Council Highlights from the May 6, 2026 Council meeting:
• During open forum, Council heard from three members of the public on supporting the continued services from the South East Grey Community Health Centre (SEGCHC)
• Council received a presentation from the SEGCHC regarding the renewal of a 10-year funding agreement, which provides background on the program and its ongoing services.
• Council received a second presentation from the South Grey Chamber of Commerce, celebrating all of the accomplishments of 2025
• Municipal Alcohol Policy / “Bring Your Own Booze” BYOB at outdoor events
Council reviewed a proposed provincial change and decided not to permit BYOB at events in Grey Highlands.
• Municipal tractor replacement
Council approved the replacement of a municipal tractor used by Environmental Services to support ongoing municipal operations.
• Camp Molly 2026
Council approved hosting Camp Molly in Grey Highlands, a youth program that introduces participants to careers in fire and emergency services.
• Bridge A20 project
Council approved awarding the contract for the Bridge A20 replacement project, including both construction and engineering work.
• Open Air Burn By-law updates
Council approved amendments to the Open Air Burn By-law to improve clarity and strengthen regulations for outdoor burning in the municipality.
• Memorial Relocation Task Force
Council approved the Terms of Reference and staff will begin the process of accepting applicants
