Council Highlights from the May 20, 2026, Council meeting:

  • During Open Forum, Council heard from residents regarding the Lake Eugenia Oxygenation Project
  • Council heard a presentation from Jeff Rosenburg, Acting GHPL CEO on the 2025 Grey Highlands Public Library Annual Report.
  • Council awarded the contract for construction work on the Bridge BC10 project
  •  Council approved changes to the Municipal Fees and Charges By-law. Including

o   Adding Grey Highlands 25th anniversary T-shirt fee $20.00

o   Adding Gery Highlands 25th anniversary Hat fee $25.00

o   Removing the death registration fee for those under the age of 1

  •  Council considered and approved amendments to the Septic Inspection Program to permit third-party inspectors to conduct inspections.
  • Council received public correspondence outlining community concerns regarding the placement and approval of oxygenation infrastructure for the Lake Eugenia project and directed staff to report back with an update.
  • Council supported Deputy Mayor Nielsen’s nomination for the AMO Rural Caucus Board
  • Council supported the Grey Highlands Heritage Committee's efforts to extend the Heritage Designation deadline imposed by the province
