Council Highlight for June 3, 2026

Council Highlights from the June 3, 2026, Council meeting:
- Council approved proceeding with a Request for Proposals (RFP) to find someone to run the food booth at the Centre Grey Recreation Complex (Markdale Arena) for the upcoming ice season.
- Council referred the matter to a future Committee of the Whole for further discussion for the Rocklyn Arena Facility.
- Council received information on a seasonal PicklePass membership program. A By-law will come back to a future Council meeting for approval.
- Council approved enhancements to the Lake Eugenia water quality monitoring program, including expanded monitoring measures, public reporting of results and an annual summary report to Council.
- Council reviewed suggested updates to the Municipality's Adopt-A-Road Policy. A By-law will come back to a future meeting for approval.
- Council reviewed updates to the Municipality's procurement by-law to align with the Province's Buy Ontario Directive. A By-law will come back to a future meeting for approval.
- Council reviewed recommendations from the Treasurer on 2026 Capital Funding, noting changes since the budget was approved and that less borrowing will be needed.
- Council provided support to Town of Bruce Mines and Stone Mills on concerns over Bill 97 Changes
