Grey Highlands, ON — May 1, 2026

The Municipality of Grey Highlands advises residents, businesses, and road users that effective May 1, 2026, all municipal roads previously subject to reduced load restrictions of 5 tonnes per axle have been fully lifted.

These seasonal load restrictions are typically implemented in early spring to protect road infrastructure during freeze–thaw conditions, when roads are most vulnerable to damage. With improving weather and road base conditions, the municipality has determined that restrictions are no longer required.

Normal load limits are now back in effect on all Grey Highlands municipal roads. Commercial operators, agricultural users, and the general public are reminded to continue complying with posted signage and applicable regulations under the Highway Traffic Act.

The Municipality appreciates the cooperation and patience of residents and road users during the seasonal restriction period, which helps extend the lifespan of local road infrastructure and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
