Volunteer Opportunity: Lake Management Task Force (LMTF)

The Municipality of Grey Highlands is seeking dedicated volunteers to join the Lake Management Task Force (LMTF). This Task Force plays a vital role in protecting and enhancing the health of our local lakes, including Lake Eugenia, Irish Lake, Wilcox Lake, and Brewster’s Lake.

Purpose

The LMTF reports to Council and is responsible for:

  • Reviewing the current state of our lakes.
  • Researching best practices in lake management, sustainability, and watershed health.
  • Developing Lake Management Plans for each lake, identifying priorities for action.
  • Recommending strategies for water quality, invasive species control, and ecosystem protection.
  • Creating a public education plan to promote lake stewardship.

 

Commitment

  • Attend regular meetings and contribute to research and planning.
  • Collaborate with other members and subcommittees as needed.
