Notice of Completion: Municipality of Grey Highlands Markdale Wastewater Treatment Plant Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
Notice of Completion
Municipality of Grey Highlands Markdale Wastewater Treatment Plant Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
The Municipality of Grey Highlands (Municipality) has completed a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to determine options for expanding the Markdale Wastewater Treatment Plant to service future development.
The Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class EA, initated by the Municipality in 2022, is being issued for a 30-day review period. It assessed options to address future wastewater servicing needs in Markdale. The preferred solution was identified as upgrading the existing lagoon (wastewater treatment plant), including a new mechanical headworks building with septage receiving, an upgraded aeration system, and an expansion of the rapid infiltration basins.
Further details are presented in the Schedule ‘C’ Class EA report, which is available for review on the Municipality’s website at: https://connectgreyhighlands.ca/lagoonEA.
This study is being conducted according to the requirements of a Schedule C project under the Municipal Class EA process (October 2000, as amended in 2015 and 2023).
By this notice, the Class EA is being placed on public record for a 30-day review period in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class EA process. Interested persons may provide comments to the project team listed below by April 20, 2026.
This Notice was issued on March 20, 2026. Find full PDF version here.
