Centre Grey Recreation Complex (Markdale Hall) Update

Grey Highlands, ON: We recognize the challenges that the fire at the Markdale Arena on August 3rd has created and sincerely thank residents, partners, and user groups for their patience during this time.

Markdale Hall Status
We are pleased to announce that progress is underway and that the Markdale Hall will reopen for rentals and community events starting January 2, 2026. 

This space will once again host gatherings, celebrations, and programs that bring our community together.

Arena Status
The arena is still under assessment as engineers determine next steps. We understand the importance of this facility and will share updates as soon as new information becomes available. In the meantime, we extend our gratitude to user groups who have adapted by using alternate ice locations.

The Municipality is committed to restoring services and ensuring the Centre Grey Recreation Complex remains a hub for recreation and community life. Your continued support and understanding are appreciated as we move forward.
