Grey Highlands Supports Community Safety with New Equipment and Data Sharing

As part of the Community Safety and Policing (CSP) Grant program, Grey Highlands will provide the OPP with advanced tools to strengthen community engagement and enforcement efforts. This includes new electric bikes for patrols in areas that are difficult to access by vehicle, as well as modern equipment to support investigations and improve officer safety.
In addition, the Municipality will deploy traffic counters to collect detailed data on vehicle speeds and traffic patterns. The data gathered will be shared with the OPP to enable evidence-based speed control measures and targeted enforcement in high-risk areas.
These initiatives align with priorities identified in the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, focusing on road safety, crime prevention, and building stronger connections between police and residents. By combining technology, mobility, and data-driven strategies, Grey Highlands and the OPP are working together to create safer roads and communities.
