Method of Voting for 2022
The Municipality of Grey Highlands will be offering a choice of either internet or in person voting options to electors in Grey Highlands for 2022.
Internet Voting:
Internet Voting Opens on Friday October 7, 2022 at 10 am and is available 24/7 through to October 24, 2022 at 8 pm.
Paper Ballots:
Paper Ballot Voting is available on Election Day October 24, 2022 from 10 am - 8 pm at the Municipal Office.
Advanced Voting for those wishing to cast a paper ballot and are unable to attend on voting day are here:
Sat. Oct. 8 – Osprey Community Centre, Feversham 10 am – 2 pm
Sun. Oct. 9 – Markdale Community Centre 10 am – 2 pm
Sat. Oct. 15 – Rocklyn Community Centre 10 am – 2 pm
Sun. Oct. 16 – Flesherton Kinplex 10 am – 2 pm
What do I need to vote?
You must provide proof of your identity with name and qualifying address if you attend to vote in person. Even if you have your Voter Notification Card, you must still provide identification. To vote online, you only need your Voter Information Letter which will be mailed out to all qualified electors the first week of October. The instructions to vote in person and online will be included on your letter.

Are you new to the Municipality? Do you need to verify you are on the list to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election in Grey Highlands and missed the deadline to search using the online tool? Please email clerks@greyhighlands.ca with your full name and qualifying address and we will check to see if you are on the Voter's List. We will only confirm or deny if the name is found on the list. |
Who can vote in a Municipal Election? |
Am I eligible to vote?
You are eligible to vote if you live in Grey Highlands (either as a tenant or property owner) or your spouse lives in Grey Highlands. You also must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old and not prohibited from voting under subsection 17 (3) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (see below). Who is not allowed to vote? 1. A person who is serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution cannot vote. 2. A corporation is not entitled to a vote. 3. A person acting as executor or trustee in any other representative capacity cannot vote, except as a voting proxy in accordance with section 44 of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. 4. A person who was convicted of a corrupt practice described in subsection 90 (3), of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, cannot vote if voting day in the current election is less than five years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted.
If I own more than one property in Grey Highlands can I vote more than once? No, each person is entitled to only one vote, no matter how many properties they own in Grey Highlands. If you don't live in Grey Highlands but own property here, you are entitled to vote. |

The Municipality must remain impartial through all facets of the election process, however a group of local volunteers formed to try to boost civic engagement in Grey Highlands and have a website that offers additional information on the candidates in a non-partisan way. Voting Information |
The Municipality of Grey Highlands will be proceeding with a hybrid method offering both remote and in-person ballot marking through internet and paper options for 2022.
2022 Voter Information Package
All eligible electors on the Voter's List will receive a Voter Information Letter around the first week of October with instructions on voting. |

All Candidates Sessions |
The Municipality must remain impartial in all facets of the election, therefor the Municipality will not be hosting an "All Candidates Session". Associations and organizations may schedule and host their own sessions to hear from the candidates. We will post dates times and locations of any scheduled sessions that we are notified of.
