Mattresses
Drop off your old mattresses for $25.00, they are now shipped out and diverted instead of going into the landfill.
Styrofoam Drop off your clean, block Styrofoam (that snaps when folded) at no charge to one of our waste and diversion sites.
Reusable Clothing Drop off your unwanted/used clothing into our reusable clothing bin at no charge.
Drywall Recycling Drop off your cut off and scraps of drywall as per the Fees and Charges By-Law.
Drop off your old/unwanted electronics in the electronic collection bins at no charge.
Scrap Metal Drop off your cut off and scraps of metal at no charge.
Battery Recycling & 9 Volt Battery Safety Single use and rechargeable household batteries are accepted at no charge. Car batteries are not accepted.
Drop off up to 10 tires per day for diversion at no charge.

Medication and Needles: All prescription, over-the-counter and natural health drugs are accepted at any pharmacy. Approved sharp containers can be picked up at any pharmacy and dropped back off once filled/used, free of charge. Health Products Stewardship Assoc.

Re-Use Centres |
All three of our Waste and Diversion Sites have a Re-Use Centre that is open during operating hours. Residents pay to dispose of the items but can take anything from the Re-Use Centre free of charge. Please note the Reuse Centre will close 1 hour before closing to allow attendants sufficient time to properly sort and organize. Items to Drop Off •Let the scale attendant know you have items for the Reuse Centre
•Pay the tipping fee as per the Fees and Charges By-law
•The attendant has the discretion to not accept item(s)
•Resident is responsible for unloading accepted item(s) at drop off-location
Item Removal •Select item(s) and load item(s) at own risk
•Fill out the waiver form that is located in the drop box in the Reuse Centre. Place the yellow copy in the drop box in the Reuse Centre
•The white copy is yours to keep
•There is no charge to take items home
The Municipality of Grey Highlands does not assume any responsibility for items selected or obtained from the Reuse Centre. The Municipality does not warrant or guarantee the items in any way and are taken “as is.”

•Books, vinyl records, DVDs, CDs, VHS, cassette tapes

•Novelty items or “antiques-type” items
•Memorabilia, collectibles
•Bicycles
•Hand and garden tools (non-electric)
•Home décor and seasonal items
Items must be clean and in good working order.
Unacceptable Items: •Hazardous Waste
•Couches, large chairs
•Mattresses and box springs
•Electrical appliances
•Items containing Freon (fridges, dehumidifiers, etc)
•Clothing, footwear
•Linens, rugs, blankets, sleeping bags, pillows
•Auto parts, tires, batteries, automotive accessories
•Potentially unsanitary items (toilets, etc)
•Bulky items
•Infant equipment (car-seat, highchairs, etc)
•Food and beverages
