senior couple on swing

Seniors play an important role in our Municipality. Some have lived here all their lives, while many have moved here more recently to enjoy their retirement in our paradise.

The following links provide helpful information and resources to help Seniors live a full and satisfying life.

Grey Highlands Seniors Advisory Committee (SAC)
A Seniors Advisory Committee was formed to offer advisory consultation to municipal council in a two-way information sharing process, where local grassroots solutions and public outreach discussions may be facilitated on issues around the World Health Organization’s age-friendly community elements. The committee seeks to coordinate the collection and dissemination of information and resources for seniors in the community. The committee will represent all areas of the Grey Highlands community of communities as a collective voice for the senior segment of the community. It meets monthly or at the call of the chair.
Council on Aging Grey Bruce

Council on Aging Grey Bruce (COAGB) provides education and resources for seniors, their families and their caregivers so they have the tools and services to live independently and stay active.

Services include:

  • voice and address the concerns of seniors in the area
  • offer support and advocacy regarding community and health services, social and recreational activities, social inclusion, housing, transportation, outdoor spaces and buildings, employment and volunteering
  • offer networking opportunities and resources
  • provide an environment for knowledge exchange between stakeholders

The Seniors Advisory Committee (SAC) member appointed as Grey Highlands liaison to COAGB provides regular updates on COAGB activities and initiatives. Updates and COAGB minutes are included on the published agendas/minutes of SAC meetings.
