Grey Highlands Fire & Emergency Services is comprised of one full-time Fire Chief, 2 District Chiefs, a Public Educator, 6 Support Staff, and approximately 45 dedicated volunteer Firefighters all of whom operate from two stations.
Station 1: 54 Durham Street, Flesherton
Station 1 houses four apparatus:
1 Pumper (Pump 20): a 1997 pumper built by Superior on an International chassis
1 Tanker (Tanker 32): a 2001 tanker built by Robico-Foreman on an International chassis
2 Squad2 (squad 10): a 2001 F450 is rapid response apparatus primarily equipped for auto extrication and fighting small fires and (squad 12) is a 2016 F550 is rapid response apparatus primarily equipped for auto extrication, medical calls, auto extrication, and fighting small fires.
Station 2: 200 Isla Street, Markdale
Station 2 houses 6 apparatus:
1 Command Vehicle (Truck 2): a 2016 F250 is the base of operations for the Incident Commander (IC) at structure fires. In addition it serves as a personnel carrier for all incidents and a response unit to assist Grey County EMS services.
2 Tankers (Tanker 34): a 2016 tanker built by Asphodel on a Freightliner chassis & (Tanker 33) a 2010 tanker built by Asphodel on a GMC chassis
1 Squad (Squad 11): a 2007 F550 is rapid response apparatus primarily equipped for auto extrication and fighting small fires. In addition it serves as a personnel carrier for all incidents and the primary response unit to assist Grey County EMS services
1 Pumper (Pump 21): a 2000 pumper built by Hub on a Spartan Chassis
1 Support Vehicle (Rehab): a 1989 F350 cube van built by Childs Truck Bodies is currently used primarily for equipment transport
Station 2 is also home to a Grey County EMS ambulance and crew quarters.
