Council Highlights November 6, 2024

This is a summary of the meeting items and not inclusive of all agenda items. All items are contained in the minutes.
- Ben Caesar and Dave Meslin of Strong Towns delegated to Council regarding the Completion of the Comprehensive Zoning By-law Update and the County of Grey Centreline Setback. Council received the delegation for information.
- Daniel Segal of Segal Construction delegated to Council regarding a municipal housing development. Council received the delegation for information and asked for a staff report on the feasibility to work with a developer on this type of project.
- Council received a presentation from the By-law Enforcement contractor JSS Municipal Support Services Inc. regarding By-law Enforcement services in Grey Highlands.
- Council approved amendments to the Fees and Charges By-law 2012-063. The changes related to the Planning Department to include a signage fee and the Fire Department for a Fire Safety Plan Consultation fee.
- Council received a report on the third quarter financials for the municipality for 2024
- Council approved a cemetery proposal from the Independent Old Order Mennonite Church for the establishment of a 16.8m x 53.4m Cemetery on Lands for 813615 East Back Line.
- Council approved education in regards to options for a septic inspection program (voluntary for all properties in Grey Highlands, and mandatory for lakefront properties) and to discuss the topic further at a Committee of the Whole meeting.
