Council Highlights April 3, 2024

This is a summary of the meeting items and not inclusive of all agenda items. All items are contained in the minutes.
- Leslie Priddle, Angela Teeter, and Carolyn Deandre spoke during the Open Forum portion of the meeting on item 10.2 - By-law 2024-032 being By-law to amend the Fees and Charges By-law.
- Council approved a report on the final implementation of the Grey Bruce Detachment Joint Board and appointed Michelle Reynolds, Karl Ellis, Gerry Solursh, and Nicole Martin to the Board.
- An age-friendly health fair will be held in Grey Highlands on June 11 or 25, 2025, as recommended by the Senior’s Advisory Committee.
- The Ladybank Schoolhouse at 468083 Concession 12B was designated as a Heritage Property.
- Council approved changes to Schedule F of the Fees and Charges By-law with an amendment that includes a 20% discount for annual group bookings of over 50 hours of municipal ice.
- The 2023 Grey Highlands Officer of the Year award was presented to Provincial Constable Gab Kokas. Chair of the Police Services Board Lynn Silverton and Mayor McQueen presented the award to Constable Kokas, whose family and coworkers were in attendance.
- A closed session was held with three items on the agenda: CAO review, 2024 Senior of the Year, and a staffing update. Coming out of closed, Council directed staff to submit the nomination for Senior of the Year as indicated in closed session to be announced at a later date.
