Fire and Emergency Services

Fire Stations

Grey Highlands Fire & Emergency Services is comprised of one part-time Fire Chief, 2 District Chiefs, a Public Educator, 6 support staff, and approximately 45 dedicated volunteer firefighters all of whom opperate from two stations. 

Station 1:

Address: 54 Durham Street, Flesherton

Station 1 houses four apparatus:

  1. 1 Pumper (Pump 20): a 1997 pumper built by Superior on an International chassis
  2. 1 Tanker (Tanker 32): a 2001 tanker built by Robico-Foreman on an International chassis
  3. 1 Squad (squad 10): a 2001 F450 is rapid response apparatus primarily equipped for auto extrication and fighting small fires.
  4. 1 Support Vehicle (RIT 2): a 2000 F350 is the base of operations for the 'Rapid Intervention Team' at structure fires. In addition it serves as a personnel carrier for all incidents and the primary response unit to assist Grey County EMS services.

Station 2:

Address: 200 Isla Street, Markdale

Station 2 houses 6 apparatus:

  1. 1 Command Vehicle (Command 1): a 2000 Dodge Dakota is the base of operations for the Incident Commander (IC) at structure fires. In addition it serves as a personnel carrier for all incidents and a response unit to assist Grey County EMS services.
  2. 2 Tankers (Tanker 31): a 1990 tanker built by Robico-Foreman on a GMC chassis & (Tanker 33) a 2010 tanker built by Asphodel on a GMC chassis
  3. 1 Squad (Squad 11): a 2007 F550 is rapid response apparatus primarily equipped for auto extrication and fighting small fires. In addition it serves as a personnel carrier for all incidents and the primary response unit to assist Grey County EMS services.
  4. 1 Pumper (Pump 21): a 1999 pumper built by Hub on a Spartan Chassis
  5. 1 Support Vehicle (Special Operations 3): a 1989 F350 cube van built by Childs Truck Bodies is currently used primarily for equipment transport

Station 2 is also home to a Grey County EMS ambulance and crew quarters.
