Curbside Waste Collection

The Municipality of Grey Highlands is committed to ensuring that we extend the life of our Waste Disposal Sites as long as possible. We are committed to a greener Municipality and are working towards that goal in all our operations.
Waste Collection Limits
On January 1, 2012 the Waste Collection and Mandatory Recycling By-Law 2011-60 came into effect.
Only YELLOW TAGS are accepted
Each property is allowed to set out one (1) untagged bag and a maximum of (2) additional bags which must be tagged with a Municipality of Grey Highlands $2.00 bag tag per week.

The Municipality provides curbside waste and recycling collection. Waste is collected EVERY WEEK and recycling EVERY OTHER WEEK, on the SAME DAY for each collection day.
To ensure pick up, make sure that you have your waste and recyclables out by 7:00 am and that each bag does not weigh over 40 lb. Curbside collection is for HOUSEHOLD WASTE ONLY.
Please visit Backyard Compost & Yard Waste to see how to dispose of yard and kitchen waste. We encourage all of our residents to Compost in their Backyards. Composters can be purchased at the municipal office for $35.00. Hazardous Waste is not accepted for curbside collection. Waste Disposal Sites
The Municipality operates three Waste Disposal Sites: Markdale, Artemesia & Osprey
The Municipalities commitment to extending the life of our waste disposal sites has allowed us to bring in new waste diversion programs at our landfills.
