Snowmobiling in Grey Highlands

High average snowfalls in Grey Highlands create a good base for great snowmobiling. Combine that with the fabulous views in the Beaver Valley and you've got a winner. With some of the best snowmobiling to be found anywhere, these well marked, groomed trails make your day of riding a pleasure. Stop at one of our local restaurants along the way, for a taste of local culture, or stay at local bed and breakfasts, motels or check the Beaver Valley Accommodations web site.

Miles of Trails
The snowmobile trails in Grey Highlands link to more than 1,000 kms of trails in Grey and Bruce counties and to trails all across Ontario. Following the Trans Ontario Provincial Trail and other feeder trails one can snowmobile from Tobermory to Owen Sound, travelling just south of Meaford, towards Collingwood and beyond. Instead of driving the Grey Bruce area, one can snowmobile and see this beautiful, natural region from a different perspective. Trail maps of Ontario can be seen at The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs web site.

Trails in Grey Highlands run parallel with Hwy. 10 from Dundalk, to Markdale, through the Beaver Valley to Eugenia, north to Kimberley and from Singhampton to Markdale. The trail makes its way south and west of Markdale to Priceville and west to Durham.

Local Snowmobile Clubs
Klondyke Trail Groomers, Osprey Snow Hawks and Meaford & District Ridge Runners are locally operated snowmobile clubs. These volunteer organizations maintain and mark local trails. Their clubhouses are open on weekends, when the trails are open. Each club receives a portion of permit sales to help with trail maintenance costs. They ask you to support the region where you ride the most.

Trail Information
Trail maps can be found on the local trail clubs web sites as well as Ride Grey Bruce and The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. You'll find useful information, where to purchase permits, trail conditions, courses and more. Grey Highlands' trails are located in District Nine of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs.
