Key Dates
The Municipal Elections Act, 1996 regulates the dates on which election events happen. The Schedule of Key Dates gives a detailed listing of dates and legislative requirements. Candidates will be notified by the Clerk if there are any revisions to the following dates:
January 4th to September 10th, 2010
Nominations may be filed by candidates prior to nomination day at any time when the Municipal Office is open (Monday to Firday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m). *Note: Hours on Nomination Day (September 10th, 2010) is 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
January 4th, 2010 to December 31, 2010
The campaign period begins on January 4th, 2010 or whenever a candidate files a nomination paper, whichever is later, and ends on December 31, 2010 unless the candidate withdraws the nomination, the Clerk .....

If a candidate has a deficit on December 31, 2010 and wishes to continue fundraising to .......on or before 4:00 p.m., December 31, 2010. Failure to do so will ......ends on Friday, December 31, 2010.
